FASTag Registration

There are multiple ways to register for FASTag conveniently. You can do it online or offline. If you wish to apply for it offline, you can visit any of the Point of Sale (POS) terminals located at Toll Plazas.

For online application, you can register for a FASTag from any of the issuer agencies. You will have to upload documents online, make the purchase and your FASTag will be delivered to your doorstep.

National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) 

The National Electronic Toll Collection is the governing body for the FASTag toll collection. It provides numerous benefits to users, including cashless payment, and helps reduce time and fuel spent while waiting at toll plazas. It also facilitates the interoperability of tags with users in a secure manner for toll transactions. 

FASTag Purchase

In order to purchase your FASTag, you need to submit certain documents:

  1. Up to 2 passport size photographs of the vehicle owner (depending on the issuer agency).
  2. Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle.
  3. PAN Card.
  4. ID and Address proof documents: Driving Licence would be sufficient to verify both. Other ID and address proof documents include:
  5. Passport
  6. Voter ID card
  7. Aadhaar card (with complete address)

If you are visiting a POS terminal to purchase your FASTag in person, you are required to bring your original documents for verification.

The issuing agency will verify your original documents before accepting your FASTag application.

Once your vehicle has been registered, a representative of the issuing agency will fix the FASTag on the vehicle's windshield.

Important Note: The vehicle's owner does not need to be present to purchase the FASTag. A representative can make the purchase by presenting the documents of the owner.

FASTag Registration

  1. Upon successful purchase of a FASTag, you can complete your FASTag registration. First, your FASTag wallet will be created. If you own multiple vehicles, you can link your FASTags to a single wallet for convenient management and recharge.
  1. Once your account is ready, you can register your FASTag. Different issuers have different registration processes. But you can complete registration online. To complete your registration, you may need your wallet ID, vehicle number, RFID number, email address, or phone number. You can create your log in ID and password here.
  1. You will also receive an SMS on your registered mobile number once your registration is complete.
  1. You can use this web portal to see all future FASTag statements linked to your wallet.

Required Documents for FASTag Application

The below mentioned documents are required for FASTag application:

  1. Vehicle owner's passport sized photograph.
  2. A copy of valid driving licence.
  3. KYC documents based on vehicle category.
  4. Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle.
  5. FASTag application form.
  6. A photograph of the vehicle (may or may not be required).

Points to note for first time FASTag Registration:

If you are registering first time for the FASTag, make a note of the points listed below:

  1. You have the option to obtain a FASTag account at any of the Point of Sale (POS) locations or from authorized bank or agent sales offices. Moreover, you can also complete the FASTag registration process online.
  2. To initiate FASTag registration, you will be required to furnish your KYC document, vehicle registration certificate (RC), passport-size photograph, Pan Card (which is mandatory), and proof of address and identification (a valid license suffices for both address and ID proof). To establish a wallet with full KYC, customers must furnish all KYC documents, or they can opt for MIN KYC with just the Pan Card.
  3. Once your account setup is complete, you can register FASTag by accessing the customer portal and generating your user ID and password. This process is applicable for both retail and corporate users.
  4. Afterward, provide your mobile phone number and click 'Generate OTP'. Upon validation using the OTP, set your password, and you'll be ready to access the portal.
  5. The customer portal enables you to manage account details, make service requests, process payments and top-ups, and access reports and statements.
  6. For recharging, select the wallet ID for renewal and specify the desired amount. For MIN KYC Customers, the monthly recharge limit is Rs. 10,000, while for Full KYC Customers, the limit at any given point is Rs. 1,00,000. Recharges can be made using autorised Bank Credit/Debit Card, HDFC Bank NetBanking, Other Bank Credit/Debit Card, or Other Bank NetBanking.

How to Track FASTag? 

You can easily track your FASTag online. To track your FASTag, follow the steps given below: 

Step 1: Login to your mobile app or internet banking portal. 

Step 2: Go to the “FASTag Services” section. 

Step 3: Provide your customer ID or vehicle number. 

Step 4: You can view your FASTag status and check other details, including recent transactions, balance, and expiry details. 

FAQs on FASTag Registration

  • What are the FASTag charges?

    As per the guidelines given by Indian transport department, the maximum cost of FASTag is Rs. 100. Some banks are also providing this facility for free.

  • What is the minimum recharge value for FASTag?

    You need make a minimum recharge of Rs.100 for FASTag.

  • Do I need to apply for multiple FASTags for two vehicles?

    Yes, since you can use only one FASTag for one vehicle, you will need multiple FASTags for different vehicles.

  • What should I do if I lose my FASTag?

    In cases where FASTag is lost or damaged, you should report it immediately to the issuing bank. Make a request at the bank to block the balance amount and blacklist the tag to avoid further transactions. Later on, apply for a new FASTag and get the balance transferred. You can also withdraw the balance amount by making a request at the bank.

  • How can I check my FASTag status?

    You can easily check your FASTag status by logging into your internet banking portal or mobile app.
